In Full Bloom: Dover Park Hospice, the Sunflower Gala
On Sept 7, Dover Park Hospice’s annual fundraising event, the Sunflower Gala, took place at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore.
Themed “In Full Bloom”, the gala was a celebration of life, and a tribute to the dignity, care and compassion that enables individuals to flourish, even in life’s final season. Mr Ong Ye Yung, Minister for Health, was the evening’s guest-of-honour. Aside from gracing the event, he also specially created a piece of Chinese calligraphy with the words fú shòu ān níng (Blessings, Longevity, Health and Peace). It was one of 14 unique items featured in the gala’s silent auction. Charitable contributions have become increasingly vital for Dover Park Hospice to support patients as the demand for palliative care rises. Hosted by Bobby Tonelli, the Sunflower Gala featured a contemporary dance performance, as well as an acapella performance by Syncopella from the School of the Arts. In all, Dover Park Hospice raised $1,037,050 (inclusive of Tote Board matching) at the event.
