Born on 14th June 1967, Kumar Mangalam Birla is the fourth generation of the Birla family. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Bombay and then pursued his MBA from the London Business School. After completing his education, he joined the family business in 1983 as a director of the Aditya Birla Group. Under his leadership, the Aditya Birla Group has diversified into various sectors such as cement, textiles, chemicals, aluminum, financial services, telecom, and retail.
